Man oh man oh man, there's some really bad stock photography out there.

Post inspired by this one, but there are many more I've seen today.

Yeah. Stock went down in quality when it became "right-click, submit." Back when you actually had to print it, you'd edit some.

I've been buying from istockphoto for 3+ years now -- yes, there's some hideous stuff in there. Then again, I've been surprised to see an equivelent number of frozen expressions and stiff poses in stock photos costing 100 times as much.

My favorite is when the search function turns up completely anomalous results. Such as when a search on "lettuce" turns up a picture of a penguin with nothing resembling even a hint of lettuce, food, or gardening anywhere in sight.
